Section Four: Flesh

“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6

flesh

False beliefs and the negative behaviors and emotions they cause are examples of how you live in the flesh. They’re ways you attempt to meet your needs apart from God. Flesh is your own “variety” of sin. The flesh is selfish and always wants its way, but it’s not who we are. It’s how we behave and respond emotionally when we don’t walk in the Spirit. Ultimately, the believer’s life presents two options: living in the flesh or living in the Spirit. To take the path of the flesh is to struggle to meet your needs on your own. To walk after the Spirit is to trust Christ to meet your needs.
