Jesus embodied the tension between grace and truth. Churches and Christians should too, but they tend to swing toward one or the other. It's easy to be a church of truth or a church of grace - to be conservative or liberal. But when churches take either of those routes, we can sense that something is wrong, something's missing.
Prayer can be a challenging thing. If we are brand new to it, it can be awkward and clunky. We can pray all our lives and still wonder if it works. Regardless of our experience, most of us have the same question: how do we get it right? Well, Jesus directly addressed this. He said, “this is how you should pray…”. And what he describes over the next few verses is something far more than words.
