We can even get there with our faith. But when Jesus showed up, he didn’t intend on business as usual. He came to make a difference.And he came for the whole world to feel that difference. Following Jesus’ crucifixion, his followers expected what anyone expects after someone dies: that they would remain that way. But one of Jesus’s followers, John, gave an eyewitness account which summarized the main event surrounding Christianity: Jesus rose from the dead. In this seventh and final sign that John documents, he makes the case that Jesus is exactly who he claimed to be.
When Jesus was on the earth, people were attracted to him. They were drawn by his unique and powerful message. One word explains why people through the ages have responded so passionately to what Jesus said and did. That word is grace.
Everything has a beginning. Every person, every idea, every journey starts somewhere. Whether it's one small step in a new direction or a major event, from that point forward nothing is ever the same.
It's not always comfortable. It's not always easy. But it's a start.
